My name is Jonathan Cavett and I am a son of God and minister of the Gospel. I was raised in a Christian home but my parents and I never attended church anywhere. I gave my life to Christ when I was around 8 years old and was reawakened by the Holy Spirit at the age of sixteen on the fourth hole of Cherokee Springs Golf Course (it‘s an interesting story). I minister the youth at Macedonia Baptist Church and I am on staff for Crossroads of East Tennessee (a ministry that goes to area schools to conduct inductive Bible studies). I love to spend time with family and friends, study theology, read literature, and write. I have been greatly influenced by many theologians; however, the Puritans have had the greatest impact on my thought. My calling and commitment is to preserve the glory of God through writing, exegetical study, and expository preaching. I dabble in poetry and am greatly impressed by the Puritan poet Anne Bradstreet. I reside in Cleveland, TN and currently attend Lee University. Future plans include completing my B.A. in English Education, attending Southern Baptist Theological Seminary for at least a M.Div if not a D.D. I pray that what I post is true to Scripture and edifying to all who read my blog. I will be adding new posts often so if you would like to subscribe to my blog you can have my latest blog posts sent directly to your email inbox.
In the spirit of the Reformation: Sola Fide, Sola Gratia, Sola Scriptura, Solus Christus, Soli Deo Gloria
In all Christian affection,
Jonathan Cavett
